Sacrilege was designed with a specific idea in mind, a guild that was run by the entire administration team with the goal of allowing all members a more hands on position within the guild. That being said, here is an outline of the policies and rules with which the council plans to serve the guild to the best of our abilities.
In-Game Policies:
Inviting New Members:
Sacrilege is a level 60 only guild. Alts are allowed, of course, but your main must be 60.
All new members should be tested. Ideally, these groups will be formed of 1 council member and 2 other Sacrilege members. The goal is to find a unanimous decision and then have the council member invite the new recruit. We want people who listen, care about the game, have a good attitude, and will grow with the guild, even if they don’t have the gear just yet.
Promoting Members:
Promotion will be merit based. No one is being promoted because they are a friend or simply because they asked. Instead, it will be earned by working for your guild: helping lesser geared members, working to recruit, being a positive influence, remaining at least semi-active, and always keeping the interest of the guild in mind. The goal is to have our ranks mean something to the members, and so that we can reward those who have done a good job.
But it also must be noted, that an increase in rank comes with increased responsibilities and work load. There are currently (and should always be) projects in the works for the betterment of the guild. These are assigned to the council, as well as officers. You are given a more active role in the management of the guild and can help effect change, but trying for promotions may not be for everyone.
Now that the guild has officially come together, everyone is eligible for promotion. There is no waiting period for new members, but in order to be considered, a member must find at least 3 people willing to support their new position. The promotion will be brought before the council and voted on. A majority of the council must vote for the promotion for it to occur.
The council can also suggest promotions within itself (and this will probably be the more common method). These promotions will also require a majority vote from the council.
Demoting Members:
While we hope this will not be something we have to do, it may occur from time to time. This follows the same rules as promoting. Three people can suggest a person for a demotion or the council can as well. A majority of the council must vote for the demotion for it to occur.
Removing Members:
We are all adults here and hopefully this never happens. But, we still need policy just in case it is ever necessary. Removing a member will follow the same pattern as promotions and demotions, with the exception that the decision by the council must be unanimous.
If you have to be removed from the guild, you will be given a 3-day temporary ban (for your first offense). This time will allow the guild to heal and the removed player to think about what they have done. After the time period ends, you can be reconsidered for the guild (following the standard invite council approval process), providing you have apologized or corrected the problem that caused you to be removed in the first place.
Second offenses will result in a 1-week ban. A third offense results in a permanent ban and the player being added to our blacklist.
Out-of-Game Policies:
WeChat:
WeChat is a downloadable chat client that allows us to communicate, putting together groups and other quick actions. It isn’t for long term decisions, but rather quick discussion and goofing around. We do not require WeChat for our guild members, but it is strongly encouraged. This will allow you to find groups much easier, even if you are not online. Instructions on setting up WeChat should eventually be found or linked to from our forums.
Forums:
The forums allow us to post permanent decisions on policy, rules, scheduling, guides, and more. Again, we do not require the forums for our guild members, but it is strongly encouraged. These tools are valuable assets in creating a better game experience, so we hope you will join us in them.
