Fire, PvE
Pros: Basic fire dungeon spec. Enough frost talents to make your Frost Blast freeze trash pulls and that's it. It has all the bells and whistles, full improved Fire Barrage, and the requisite useful AoE/debuff/critical farm in flame storm.
Cons: PvP at your own peril; you'll explode. You cannot PvP unless MAYBE you have high resilience PvP gear. No silence, which barely matters, only for one boss (Boss 1 of ETL).
Frost Tank, PvP
Pros: This is all the dominant anti-melee spells for PvP, most twice because of Frozen Mind. You have 3 hard stuns, plus 8 seconds of silence, and 100% damage reflection armor shield (doesn't apply to spells). Augmented shield absorb, and 35% less damage during stun help a lot too. Fun to PvP with, especially if you know you'll see lots of melee.
Cons: You cannot kill a boss to save your life. You will be out of mana in a dungeon in 20 seconds. Fireball doesn't hit as hard as other PvP specs and you cannot stun lock with Fire Barrage. Since it doesn't include the fire tree telestun critical for killing other mages, you will likely lose to the next spec.
Telequiet, PvP
Link above is partial, with 7 points to add to taste. Some go deeper into ice for the armor shield and extend the brutal silence, others take Elemental Finishing to use with instant cast.
Pros: The biggest pro is lightning fall, which teleports, stuns, AND does damage, and is usually followed up with silence. The teleport silence combo works because lightning fall has an amazing range, and substantially outranges silence. This spec kills other mages without lightning fall, and does a good job on healers as well.
Cons: You will have trouble with melee without the anti-melee win buttons of Permafrost and reflecting armor shield. Has neither Flame Storm or Permafrost. You still can't do much in a dungeon. This is hard to pull off with subpar gear.
